Another lane hog, this time there isn’t an Audi in sight. Why oh why. This is classic highway maintenance van procedure, they seem to travel way over their speed limit in the outside lanes every time I see them.
It begs the question – is it safer for me to do what I did, traverse 2 lanes to overtake on the outside and then back in again, or do you just continue in the inside lane? Because it seems to me the safest place to overtake is the inside lane since nobody ever f*cking goes there!
A lot is made of the fallacy that excess speed is the main cause of accidents. Of course if you do a little research you’ll see this simply isn’t true. In fact, the most dangerous driver I’ve ever experienced was also the slowest.
We all get annoyed by idiot drivers (the trend seemingly that they’ll be driving large German manufactured vehicles) who either think they are above everyone else or simply do not care enough about others to give a hoot – but there is one thing that really gets my goat more than anything else!
One of the most infuriating things you encounter while driving is people who have no idea how to indicate correctly at a roundabout. It’s really simple (as you could see if you looked at the Highway Code), but here’s a very simple set of rules off the top of my head.
